BOOK BY: Gabrielle Meyer
Another fantastic time travel/jumper story from Gabrielle Meyer!
This story follows the daughter of book 1’s hero and heroine, Margaret Hollingsworth. Maggie lives in three different decades, due to the double birth marks she was born with. Readers are treated to major historical events in 1861, 1941, and 2001 that shaped America.
Maggie feels called to work in medicine, and in each of her paths she is able to practice it somehow. Determined not to fall in love and to choose the best path, Maggie tries to focus on her work. Of course, she’s presented with three charming possible love interests to distract her – one for each path.
There’s a lot to like about this story. Each storyline has its own heartaches, intrigue, and secrets that make Maggie’s decision difficult. Each path places her in Washington D.C., providing an interesting glimpse into how the city changed – and stayed the same – over 150 years.
By far, my favourite hero is Graydon. He’s a gentleman through and through, even though it’s obvious he has secrets of his own. Zechariah’s journey is remarkable and turns out to be a great hero too. Seth is the least likeable hero, even though he’s extremely charming. Maggie’s choice isn’t easy!
I enjoyed this story and look forward to book three (I’m hoping there’s one!).
I received a copy of the book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are my own.
